FABRIC

We use the same fabric across every piece at MORI — because we’ve found one that works, and we’ve chosen to do it well.

Our signature bamboo blend is made from Tamboocel® natural cellulose fibre, with a touch of spandex for stretch and recovery. The result is soft, breathable, and made to hold its shape over time.

The fabric is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and FSC-certified. Tamboocel® uses a closed-loop process where water and solvents are recovered, filtered, and reused — reducing waste and limiting harmful emissions into the environment.

We’ve been asked why not organic cotton, or why include spandex. The short answer — we’ve tried.

Pure organic cotton didn’t meet our expectations in durability or weight, especially for pieces designed to be worn often and washed frequently. The addition of spandex allows our garments to stretch, recover, and stay in rotation for longer.

To us, sustainability isn’t just about material choices on paper — it’s about how long something stays in your life.

DYE

Some of our colours are created using natural dye processes, in partnership with an established all-natural dye manufacturer in Bali.

You’ll see this in shades like VANDA — our Singapore-exclusive — and YOMOGI, a deep mossy green that’s been part of MORI since 2021.

These dyes are derived from natural sources: leaves, bark, seeds, and flowers. Because of this, no two batches are exactly the same — slight variations (±10%) in tone are expected.

We see this as part of the process. Over time, with wear and washing, the colour softens and evolves — creating a kind of lived-in patina unique to each piece.

Natural dyeing also uses fewer harsh chemicals compared to conventional synthetic processes, making it gentler for both the people working with the dyes, and the people wearing them.

PACKAGING

At HQ, we call them MORI mails — because who doesn’t love receiving something thoughtful.

Our packaging is kept as simple and considered as possible. We use a fully paper-based approach for cards and wraps, with most materials FSC-certified and produced locally.

Each piece comes with its own pouch — cut, sewn, and silkscreened in our Singapore studio. They’re designed to be reused, whether as a travel pouch, something for your daily essentials, or a small home for things you want to keep close.

If you’d prefer things pared back, you can opt for a fuss-free option at checkout. Your order will be packed without additional materials, in a biodegradable cassava bag.
